Jason Bilnoski

FBI Cyber Division

Jason Bilnoski is a Section Chief within the FBI’s Cyber Division, serving as the Senior Liaison Officer to the National Security Agency’s Cybersecurity Directorate and US Cyber Command. In this senior executive role, he leads a diverse team focused on strategic collaboration, policy development, and whole of government response to significant cyber security matters impacting the United States.

Mr. Bilnoski first entered on duty as a Special Agent with the FBI in January 2008. From 2008 through 2012, he was assigned to the Memphis Field Office, Jackson Resident Agency, where he worked a variety of Violent Crime and Drug investigations. He was also a member of the FBI’s SWAT team and the Operational Medical Program. In 2012, Mr. Bilnoski was transferred to the Attorney General’s Protection Detail, where he participated in numerous protection related assignments, both within the United States and globally.

In 2014, Mr. Bilnoski was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) and transferred to the Cyber Division. Mr. Bilnoski worked in a supervisory capacity and oversaw investigative and intelligence matters related to cyber-crimes in both the public and private sector. Mr. Bilnoski worked closely with United States Intelligence Community partners, private sector organizations, and international law enforcement and intelligence partners to counter the efforts of sophisticated cyber actors targeting the United States. While working in the Cyber Division, he received numerous awards, including the National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation and the National Counterintelligence and Security Center Award for Countering Technical and Cyber Threats.

In 2016, Mr. Bilnoski was transferred to the Detroit Field Office, where he became the supervisor for the Computer Intrusion Squad, responsible for criminal and national security computer intrusion investigations. In addition, Mr. Bilnoski supervised the investigative activities of the FBI Detroit Field Office’s Cyber Task Force, comprised of federal, state, and local investigators.

In 2018, Mr. Bilnoski reported to Islamabad, Pakistan as the Legal Attaché, where he was responsible for all FBI activities within Pakistan. Then again in 2021, he was deployed overseas to Baghdad, Iraq as the Legal Attaché, where he was responsible for leading regional FBI activities in a war-time environment in both Iraq and Syria. In December 2021, Mr. Bilnoski was selected to be the Assistant Special Agent in Charge over Criminal and Computer Intrusion matters in the Norfolk Field Office. In this role, Mr. Bilnoski served as a senior manager of crisis response focused on preparation, preparedness, and response to crisis events, including managing the SWAT, Evidence Response Team (ERT) and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), as well as leading responses to significant cyber incidents.

Mr. Bilnoski was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He received a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Loyola University New Orleans, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Louisiana University. Prior to working for the FBI, Mr. Bilnoski was a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service and a Sheriff’s Deputy in Louisiana.
